Among these products is Butler Manufacturing’s MR-24™ standing seam roof. It is the industry’s only 360 field-formed Pittsburgh double-lock seam. This is the same seam that is used to seal oil storage drums, beverage cans and fuel tanks. External fasteners are eliminated by the use of a unique clip with a sliding stainless steel tab which is roll formed into the seam. The clip allows the roof to move up to 2½ inches as it reacts to daily and seasonal temperature changes, without developing roof leaks.
Butler Manufacturing also provides pre-engineered long bay construction. In addition to providing quicker construction and single-source warranty not offered by other pre-engineered manufacturers, Butler’s long bay alternative gives you more options for layout and allows use of larger refrigeration coils in cold storage buildings. The end result is proven cost savings.
In concrete tilt-up construction, Systems West uses both a pre-cast sandwich panel system, and Butler Truss Purlin XT™ framing system. The precast sandwich panel, is the ultimate in concrete tilt-up wall insulation, creating a wall that is 99.7% thermally efficient. Complete wall support is provided by the Truss Purlin XT™ system, which uses a completely galvanized joist and structural deck. This allows installation of a standing seam roof independent from framing systems.
